The Cavy Council of Victoria (CCV), formed in 1962, has been dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of pedigree cavies for over 60 years. As a leading authority in the cavy community, the council fosters a passion for breeding, showing, and caring for these charming animals. Through various events and competitions, the Cavy Council supports enthusiasts and promotes best practices in cavy husbandry, ensuring the continued growth and appreciation of these beloved animals.

We are proud to introduce our sponsors who are dedicated supporters of the Cavy Council of Victoria and our commitment to promoting pedigree cavies and correct cavy care. With a passion for excellence and a shared love for these wonderful animals, our sponsors play a vital role in helping us organise our shows and letting us have amazing prizes!

From food to supplements and even a critical care formula, Vetafarm has all of your small animal health and nutrition needs covered.
Vetafarm's award-winning Origins range of small animal foods is sure to be a favourite for any rabbit, cavy, ferret or rodent!
Made from 99% recycled paper, back2nature’s flatter and ridged pellets allow for moisture to be absorbed rather than sitting on top of regular bedding, leaving the most delicate of feet dryer and less prone to irritations from standing in wet materials.
Suitable for rabbits, rodents, ferrets, birds and reptiles.
The CCV also has cavy themed merchandise to purchase at our shows. This ranges from guinea pig plushes, pillows, blankets and stationary items to cavy care care related items such as nail clippers, water bottles, snuggle sacks and food.
With the CCV being Australia’s first cavy club founded in July 1962, we celebrated our 60th anniversary in 2022 with a special anniversary show where past and current members congregated to commemorate the wonderful occasion. The event garnered a lot of public interest and the local newspapers and photographers were on hand to capture the moment.
The CCV was afforded the opportunity to invite international judges from Germany and Poland to judge our 2024 Oktoberfest and Polish Palooza double show event. People from all over Australia travelled to enter under these judges, in their one off Australian judging appearance. This was the first time judges from Germany and Poland had judged here in Australia.
The CCV are committed to giving our members diverse and cultural judging experiences like these and we hope to have international judges here again soon.
Again, the local newspapers and photographers were on hand to capture the event.
